Get to know Dr. Marissa Kelso DVM

Dr. Marissa has been honoured to work with the pets and their parents in the North Grenville/Ottawa area since February 2022.

She has always been interested in the human/animal bond and offering mobile veterinary care has allowed for a much greater understanding of that bond as well as the opportunity to explore alternative treatment modalities for her patients. From puppy and kitten visits to palliative and end of life appointments, they are all unique and incredibly important to Dr. Kelso.

In 2025, with a local DVM, Dr. Kelso opened the Ottawa Valley Spay Neuter Clinic. While she helps run the clinic, her focus is on mobile holistic veterinary care.

Dr. Kelso is passionate about mental health, especially within the field of veterinary medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Kelso enjoys spending time with her wife, two daughters and her pets (1 Frenchie, 2 cats, 4 horses), as well as learning and traveling to warm destinations.

New for 2026!!!  Dr. Kelso and the mobile vet will be offering Concierge Memberships for even an even more personalized, thoughtful and compassionate care veterinary experience.

Get to know Amanda, our care coordinator

Wonder who is on the other end of those e-mails you send to themobiletvet.ca?  It is Amanda!

Born and raised in the Cornwall/South Lancaster area, Amanda has a deep passion for pets and the outdoors. She can often be found on a kayak in the warmer months or the bush in the winter months with her pups and kids.  She loves the outdoors!

Amanda graduated as a Registered Veterinary Technologist from St Lawrence College in Kingston in 2004.  Her career started in the Ottawa area working emergency and regular practice. Through out the years, Amanda has advocated for patients, their owners and staff members within her practice, by attending continuing education conferences, online lectures/courses and becoming a manager at some of her clinics to help affect change. She has always held the belief that when we know better we do better and strives to always bring the best care advice and options to owners and pets while working alongside her vets.

Having been exposed to the human animal bond and its significance in her life since she was extremely little (think over 10 dogs, several cats, >250 exotic birds/parrots (cockatiels, Greys, Amazons, Macaws, etc), farm animals, and hand raising/feeding pets), it created this belief that pets deserve the best care and existence we can offer as owners. She has been lucky to have seen the changes in veterinary medicine first hand over the last 30 yrs and how much it has improved and changed pets and owners lives for the better!

With a special interest in senior pets, client education and positive behaviour modification, Amanda loves to share that knowledge with owners to help create a strong human-animal bond between them and their "furry family member"!

*Fun facts:

Amanda used to dirt track race in Cornwall and Demolition derbies for ~ 9 yrs

She operates a 2nd non pet related business full time outside of working for the Mobile Vet

And she owns 2.5 dogs (Pop Tart, Jack Frost, Cactus (shared with her sister)), 2 cats (Tumbleweed and Twiggy Branch), 1 rabbit (Carrot Cake) and a Salamander (Harry Potter).

We believe support means body, mind and spirit.
